Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
AI for CPG is a product by Simporter Inc. (“Simporter,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you access or use our SaaS platform (“Service”). By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as outlined below.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Information. When you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, and billing information (for paid plans).
- User-Generated Content. You may upload concept descriptions, images, or other creative assets (“Your Content”).
- Usage Data. We collect data on how you interact with the Service—pages viewed, features used, time stamps, IP address, and device/browser type.
- Analytics & Cookies. We use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to gather information about Service usage, improve functionality, and tailor your experience. See Section 7 for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Providing & Improving the Service. We use your data to authenticate your account, generate synthetic panels, store your concept assets, and optimize system performance.
- Personalization. To tailor trend suggestions, dashboard layouts, and email communications based on your usage patterns.
- Communication. To send you account notifications (e.g., billing receipts, password resets), product updates, and marketing materials (unless you opt out).
- Legal & Safety. To enforce our Terms of Service, prevent fraud, and ensure the security and integrity of the platform.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
- Service Providers. We share data with third-party service providers who assist us with hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and Google Analytics. These providers are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your data.
- Business Transfers. If Simporter is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred. We will notify you before any change of control.
- Legal Compliance. We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or government request.
- Aggregate & De-identified Data. We may share aggregated, anonymized data publicly (e.g., industry trend reports) for marketing and research purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 60 days, except where retention is required to:
- Comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax or financial reporting);
- Resolve disputes; or
- Enforce our agreements.
6. Security Measures
- Encryption. All data in transit between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS).
- Access Controls. We employ strict access controls, multi-factor authentication for administrative accounts, and regular audits.
- Network Security. Firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability scans help protect our infrastructure.
- Data Backups. We perform daily backups to secure, geographically distributed servers.
Despite these measures, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute protection but will promptly notify you if we discover a security breach affecting your personal data.
7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
- Essential Cookies. Required for basic platform functionality (e.g., user authentication).
- Analytics Cookies. Used to collect anonymous usage statistics (e.g., Google Analytics). You can opt out by adjusting your browser settings or using privacy browser extensions.
- Marketing Pixels. May be used to deliver relevant promotional content on third-party sites. You can opt out of targeted advertising via your ad network settings (e.g., Google Ads Settings).
8. Your Privacy Choices
- Account Settings. You may update your account information (name, email, billing) at any time via the “Account Settings” page.
- Email Preferences. Opt out of marketing emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any promotional message. Transactional emails—like password resets—cannot be opted out of.
- Data Access & Deletion. You may request a copy of your personal data or ask us to delete it by contacting hello@simporter.com. We will comply unless legal obligations require retention.
- Do Not Track (DNT). Our Service does not currently honor browser DNT signals.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not directed at—or intended for use by—children under 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact hello@simporter.com; we will promptly delete that information.
10. International Data Transfers
Simporter Inc. is headquartered in the United States. By using our Service, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. We implement standard contractual clauses and other appropriate safeguards to protect your data when transferred internationally.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on our website at least 30 days before the new policy takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
